Book this Tour

Day 1: Meet at our central Hanoi hotel for introductions and dinner. Evening walk and night photography around Hoan Kiem Lake. (D)

 

Day 2: Our day tour of Hanoi has splendid photo opportunities, visiting: The Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, Temple of Literature, West Lake - then free time. Evening photo workshop / critique. (B L D)

 

Day 3: Morning departure from hotel in our private vehicle for the 3.5hr drive to Ha Long Bay. Join our fabulous Junk for overnight cruise. (B L D)

 

Day 4: Morning cruise, with brunch then return to Hanoi, with a photo stop en-route. We have dinner in Hanoi before joining our first-class sleeper train to Lao Cai. (B L D)

 

Day 5: Our guide will meet is in Lao Cai and we will transfer to Sapa - Arrive at our hotel for breakfast then walk to Cat Cat Village. Free afternoon for own activities or further short afternoon trek. Visit the Love Market on Saturday night. (B L)

 

Day 6: Drive to Bac Ha for Sunday market and meet local tribes - lunch then walking tour of town. Return to Lao Cai for first-class sleeper train to Hanoi. (B L)
 

Day 7: Breakfast in Hanoi and then we transfer to the airport for our late-morning flight to Hue. Check-in to our hotel and then we enjoy a sedate cyclo orientation tour of Hue towards sunset. (B L D)

Day 8: We start early at the famous Citadel, before moving on to Dong Ba market. There is free-time until early afternoon when we visit the Mausoleum of Ming Man before visiting a unique Martial Arts demonstration. We round this superb day with a sundown shoot at Vong Ken Hill. (B).  

Day 9: We drive north to the Ben Hai river, which was the former division of north and south Vietnam and then on to visit the original wartime tunnels at Vinh Moc. Lunch is taken at a beach-side restaurant, en-route to Hue, with a visit to photograph the ruins of the Citadel at Quang Tri city. Photo critique/workshop in our hotel while dinner is served in our private suite. (B L D)

Day 10: Today we depart Hue, and head to the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An. We will pass through lush rice paddys and visit some local villages, with a stop for lunch before driving over the spectacular Hi Van Pass. Arrive Hoi An late afternoon to check-in to our hotel,before meeting for dinner in the Old Town. (B L D).

Day 11: A morning walking tour of the Old Town, riverside and market affords unrivalled photo opportunities. We then have some free time before meeting mid-afternoon for a river cruise to a local village for some spectacular sunset shots. (B)

Day 12: Early morning start for a short river cruise to a local fishing village, where we have ample opportunity to meet and photograph local traders and fishermen with their families. Return to Hoi An mid-morning. Remainder of day free time for shopping, beach relaxation or optional short excursion. Meet in the evening for our final photo-review, before our farewell dinner by the riverside. (B D)

Day 13: Check out from our hotel and transfer to Da Nang airport for onward travel. Guests wishing to stay in Hoi An for a longer stay can be accommodated by prior arrangement. (B) Tour concludes following transfer to Da Nang Airport.

Hanoi Old Quarter.
A fascinating myriad of streets, all specializing in a particular trade or commodity. Fantastic for photos day or night-time.

Ha Long Bay.
Ha Long" is literally translated as "Bay of Descending Dragons” although you won’t be attacked by any fire-breathing monsters! Just enjoy superb scenery and nearly 2000 limestone islands and monoliths throughout the bay.

Sapa.
Extraordinary landscapes, from the towering Fansipan Mountain at over 3000 m high, to the lush terraced rice paddy's and the beautiful rivers and valleys.

Hue.
Majesty and culture combine in this most revered and historical ancient capital.

Hoi An.
Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Old Town, market, houses and Riverside are a photographers dream !
